Oleg Ulanov

about the author
Painter, teacher, lives and works in Volgograd. Boris Grigorievich Osikov, a talented famous painter, expert in water painting, was his first teacher. Perfect training and obvious talent allowed the young artist to enter A.P. Bogolyubov Saratov Art School. The impact of the Russian painting school representatives, such as Kuznetsov, Borisov-Musatov, Petrov-Vodkin, can be seen in Oleg Ulanov’s pieces of work.
Oleg Nikolaevich devotes much time to teaching in the school of art. He has been an event organizer for many years as well. He has established a well-known in the city amateur artists club called PALITRA and a private art gallery called VERNISAZH, and has been their art director from 1992 to 2016. Creativity has been the most important thing in his life. The painter works much at plein-air. He is sensitive to the charm of his favourite land’s nature. Oleg has incorporated the methods of Russian realistic painting school and French impressionists.
The governing motives of Oleg Ulanov’s paintings are images of native land. He paints steppe dusty sand sage air, tempered with the Sun. The Volga landscapes: backwaters, beaches, ships, landing places — all this is painted with love and attention to colour, nature and people, for whom the landscape paintings are created. Calm, meditative and detached attitude to the world of objects is typical for Oleg Nikolaevich.
Many works of the author are purchased into private collections, some paintings are included in the personal fund of the artist, and, surely, there are some paintings, which can be purchased.
